Club Racing - N.Y.S.R.R.C.
Club Racing is the backbone of the SCCA, holding more some 300 high-speed racing events annually. The New York State Road Racing Championship (NYSRRC) is a series of regional races conducted by the SCCA Regions in New York State and the surrounding areas. The purpose of this series is to increase the exposure and the accomplishments of the competitors for greater recognition and visibility.
Pro Racing - World Challenge
For more than 20 consecutive seasons, the World Challenge has been North America's top production car-based racing championship. Divided into three separate categories (World Challenge GT, World Challenge GTS, and World Challenge Touring Car), each race features a thrilling standing start, adrenaline filled door-to-door action and world-class drivers. The World Challenge features cars from the world's most popular manufacturers – race-prepped versions of the cars driven on the streets. Sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing, the series races at North America's premier road and temporary street courses.
Pro Racing - Trans Am Series
The Trans Am Series is the longest running road racing series in North America. The ground-pounding, fire-breathing race cars that run in Trans Am may look like the cars we drive on the street every day, but make no mistake, every inch of these machines are purpose built race cars capable of hitting 190 mph. Yet, the Trans Am Series offers its competitor base one of the most affordable production-based technical platforms ever created. The Trans Am is not a SPEC series. Rules allow for enough creativity and originality to keep things interesting. Smart thinking and hard work are rewarded on the track. Races are 100 mile sprints. There are no pit stops. It’s flat-out, heart-pounding racing from green to checkered flag, or until the car runs out of brakes, runs out of tires, runs out of fuel, runs out of driver endurance, crashes or wins.
Pro Racing - MX 5 Cup Series
Launched in 2006, the SCCA Pro Racing Playboy Mazda MX-5 Cup features fields of identical 2006 to current Mazda MX-5s. The MX-5 Cup provides an affordable, entry-level nationwide professional series whereby drivers compete in identically outfitted SPEC vehicles. This highlights the drivers skill - all things being equal. The MX-5 Cup runs in conjunction with some of the biggest road racing events in North America, bringing its bumper - to - bumper action to race fans nationwide, as well as on television, throughout the season. In 2006, SCCA Pro Racing began working with SPEED to develop a comprehensive television schedule to include a tape delayed broadcast of each MX-5 Race. SPEED presents one of the most attractive and fastest growing audiences on cable television, and MX-5 Cup programming reached nearly 3/4 million viewers during it's inaugural broadcasts. The MX-5 Cup has become one of the best shows in motorsports today.
